Why You Should Take My Travel Advice Over Classic Online Reviews
Are you planning a trip but not sure which hotel to book? Well, listen up, traveler—you should trust me because I have real-life experience. That's right—I'm not just an online hotel reviewer or an anonymous online commenter—I'm actually a real person with a real website, a blog, and a social media presence, and I'm here to help you decide.
My name is Karolien, and I'm here to share my knowledge and experience of the world of travel. I understand that you want to ensure you're getting the best deal and experience, which is why you should trust me over all those other people who claim to be the experts. Here are five reasons why you should believe me over everybody else's reviews:
1. I have actually been to the places I'm reviewing.
Have you ever wanted to hear a review from someone who has actually been to the places they are reviewing? Well, you’ve come to the right place. I don't just pull reviews from the internet – I actually visit what I write about and get first-hand experience of the sightseeing, experiences, and vibe, .... If I write about a road trip or a city, I have actually taken that road trip or been there.
I have travelled, and experienced some of the best and worst of what this world has to offer - so let me help you make up your mind about where you should go for your next vacation.
From restaurants in Miami serving Gator sausage to nude beaches at the French Riviera - I have seen it all. And guess what? Sometimes It wasn’t even that special! Don’t get me wrong, there were some nice views along the way; however, sometimes, great expectations don't meet reality. That's why I'm here: To give an honest opinion on these travel destinations without any sugar-coating or rose-coloured glasses.
2. I'm not afraid to speak up.
Are you looking for a travel review that won't mince words? Look no further. I'm not afraid to speak my truth, no matter who it will upset.
I've been around the block enough times to know what good travel looks like, and I'm not afraid to give it when due credit—but also call out lousy service when appropriate. From luxury resorts and overhyped destinations to budget hostels and forgotten places, I'll tell you exactly what I think of your experience honestly and unfiltered. No holds barred! So, if you're looking for someone who isn't afraid to be bold and vocal with their opinion on all things travel-related, buckle up—the ride is about to get wild! I'm not scared to tell it how it is. If I think something is terrible or not my thing, I will say it. And those who know me in real life know this is so true.
3. I'm an expert in childfree travel.
I'm 30-something and have no kids. And I have traveled quite a bit since my early 20s. So I know a few things about travelling, childfree travelling that is.
As a child-free traveller, you can get to experience the freedom of travelling without having to worry about all the woes that come with kids and no interruption from noisy kid’s screaming for attention. The world of adult-only travel is a blissful escape from reality and gives travellers the unique opportunity to explore places in peace.
The fact that I mentioned the child-free part when I started Karoadtrips created a bit of drama with some. But the point stays: If you're looking for a child-free holiday, then I'm your go-to source of information. I know the best child-free hotels, the best child-free activities, and the best child-free destinations.
4. I'm honest.
I'm not afraid to tell you the truth. I'm not trying to make money or get freebies – I'm trying to give you the best advice I can. I'm not an Instagrammer who boasts about likes and tries to get free perks.
For many people, travel is an escape from the mundane and a chance to explore new places and experiences. But for others, reviewing said experiences can be a chore – especially when they are asked to be honest in what they say!
It can seem like a never-ending cycle of having to remember every detail of your travels, only to be asked, “Did you enjoy it?” with a skeptical look. After all, who wants an honest review about their vacation if it didn’t meet expectations? With so much riding on the line, how should one navigate this tricky situation without offending anyone or damaging their reputation? The answer? Well, that’s still up in the air. While being honest has its benefits (no one likes false reviews!
5. I'm passionate about travel.
I'm passionate about discovering new places, meeting new people, and having unique experiences. I'm always looking for new and exciting places to explore, and I want to share my knowledge with you. That doesn't always have to mean that I will go far. I also like to discover some more homebound places.
On the bright side, not flying around the globe constantly gives me plenty of time to review all the places I've been—or haven't been yet—without actually having to step foot out of the house.
So, if you're looking for honest and reliable advice about travel, you can trust me. Follow me on Facebook, Instagram, or Pinterest to keep updated with my latest adventures and travel tips. I'm sure you won't regret it!
