Ah, Vegas—our all-time favorite! If you're into fun, consider Nevada's glitzy city of Las Vegas as a starting point for your next travels! Las Vegas is an entertaining escape from reality, and it's great for adults who want to cut loose and let their hair down.

If you want to stay up all night and hit the casino floors, the Strip is where you should go. There are world-class venues and entertainment, and you're sure to find something to make your vacation one for the books. Don't forget to check out the legendary Vegas buffet for a varied tasting experience. But if you're looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of the Strip, Downtown Las Vegas provides a much calmer atmosphere. Here, the casinos are more laid back, and the bars and restaurants are favored by the locals.

To experience Las Vegas fully, split your stay between the Strip and Downtown. Or go for a classic Bus tour where you can hop on and off wherever and whenever you want. This way, you can get the best of both worlds, experiencing all the magic of the Strip and experiencing the more local vibe of Downtown. And if you're looking for an adult-friendly hotel experience with no kids around, the Cromwell on the Strip is the place for you. But gambling isn't the only draw of Vegas.

The well-maintained trails throughout the park are easy enough for beginner hikers but also provide more difficulty for those looking for an adventure. Many different species of plants can be seen while exploring the area, making it a great spot to learn about local flora and fauna! Someone kept warning us about snakes and spiders when we were hiking. You can even take a break to enjoy lunch or snacks at the picnic table near the parking lot.

From its serene atmosphere to its diverse wildlife, Kershaw Ryan State Park is one of Nevada's most beautiful natural gems and definitely worth the stop.

Cathedral Gorge: Rugged Canyons and Hills

This impressive natural site is truly amazing, with its towering sandstone formations reaching up to 800 feet in height. It's no wonder this area has been used as a backdrop in several movies, including The Professionals with Burt Lancaster and Lee Marvin (I had to google it, too).

The natural wonder of Cathedral Gorge will surely be an unforgettable experience as you explore this unique landscape. Take a hike along one of the many trails. It doesn't take more than a few hours to enjoy the scenery. Don't forget your camera for capturing all these amazing sights!

Ely: Silver Mining Town

One of the must-see stops on this journey is Ely, Nevada - a charming small town you often see in the movies, with one main street and authentic American families. Although this city doesn't offer many activities, you'll get a unique and authentic American experience! We had a one-of-a-kind dinner experience at a steak house that looked like a jail—very strange indeed!

While you're there, I recommend visiting the historic mining sites dating back to the 1900s. Whether you want to experience some local culture or get away from it all, Ely will provide visitors with memories that will last a lifetime!

Tonopah: a Desert Oasis

The enchanting town of Tonopah, Nevada, stands as a beacon for travelers worldwide searching for an unforgettable road trip. This is undoubtedly the place to go for those who wish to explore some of the strangest and most mysterious attractions on their journey.

One such attraction is The Clown Motel, a hotel that seems like it was plucked out from a horror movie. With its collection of clown decor lining every corner of the walls and furniture, it's no wonder some consider it one of the "world's weirdest motels."

Another curiosity that has stood in Tonopah since 1902 is the Old Tonopah Cemetery, where an undetermined number of people died during the Silver Boom era between 1900 and 1920. Spoiler Alert: it lies next to the Clown Motel from your nightmares.

Goldfield Car Cemetery: Rusty Memories

If you’re heading back to Las Vegas at the end of the road trip, why not take a detour to the Goldfield car cemetery in Nevada? In the middle of nowhere, this eerie graveyard is home to dozens of sun-baked and rusting vintage cars, and it’s an art installation like no other. It's an Instagrammer's dream – perfect for taking memorable photos. Close by is Death Valley National Par,k which provides another great opportunity for some truly stunning images.

It may look like something from a post-apocalyptic movie set, but Goldfield Car Cemetery is here to stay. Created by local artist Mark Rippie, it has been a popular destination since 2007 and makes for a unique experience on any road trip. Visitors can explore among the rusty shells while they learn more about their history, as some of these vehicles have been here since the 1970s!
